The last VLN-race in season 2010 with the BMW M1

They did it. In four days in the home workshop the M1 has been repaired. It was welded, laminated, glued and screwed, painted and measured. The lights went out and once again not on Friday evening the convoy rolled again to the Nürburgring.

The fans had noticed the accident to the BMW M1 and place it in some internet forums massive railed against the golf driver. And the fans were astonished, as "their" M1 was back in the box. Not so pretty and perfect as before, but complete and ready to drive. The paint was sprayed with paint can and was not at all places as "clean" as usual.

The season-finale, everything should be quite easy and the race director put the training and the race by 30 minutes to put back. It was really awesome because the tensions of the past few years slowly escaped, the master (the Bönker - BONK Motorsport) had been rushed and Achim the M1 with a 9:15.253 around the 24 369-meter ring and put the car on the 61st Launch site (at 197 participants in the last race !!!!). Achim: "... it would have gone faster .....".

The launch takes place on the plan at 12.30am and Achim started - as stipulated in the regulations for historic racing cars - from the third row. The interesting thing is that the famous / infamous Mini's Schirra Motoring are extremely fast and went with the full professional's Harald Grohs and Markus "Öse" Oestreich at this race in 9:00 minutes! That is the goal and the reality of AH-Racing ........

ly. On the Nordschleife the fans cheered when the AH-racing lap after lap BMW M1 had a growing lead on those behind and could catch up after a few laps of the start group two.

The TOP 30 in mind, Achim rolled  after 01:07:55.336 hours drive unexpectedly into the pits. In the last few kilometers Achim felt a "Falling" brake pedal during braking and opted for early pit stop.

It was a great surprise  when Achim drove into the box and immediately Achim Hempel from TRW stood to his side. TRW is AH Racing´s brake supplier and the expert Achim Hempel checked all components of the brake system.

Unfortunately, nothing found. After Mikey wasn´t found a mistake in the controller, he decided to "reset" the system with the result that the brake pressure was present again ..............

The failure of the braking system was inexplicable and as protection from competition goes, decisive and Achim Peter Heinrich, the BMW M1 not return to the racetrack to send before the unexplained error is not found!

Not at any cost, no risk for people and for the car. The fan project "AH Racing BMW M1" should not be lost and the 5 rounds have shown that the path is correct and that it continue in the next year is .........

24 October 2010: RCN Circuit Challenge „Um die Westfalen Trophy“

the sky was unfriendly and gray. Autumn is approaching...The MSC Bork held on 24 October 2010, the last race of the RCN Circuit Challenge on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Peter and Achim Heinrich decided in the short term to drive the 2-hour race for a test rain setup.

The weather was like a week before at the 9th VLN race: wet and cold, cloudy and gray. The acceptance test was - as always - easily and the organizer gave number 5 the number 612. Without a doubt sympathetic figure, but for the AH Racing M1 more than a negative number.

But since both parties had an inboard camera, the accident could be documented. Mikey put his favorite toy in the electronic notebook and read play the movie. With the guilty look the owners of a total loss went away again.

Mikey, Frank and Co had 4 days to repair the wrinkles of the beautiful AH Racing BMW M1. The damage was on the sub-frame and of course on the body. But manageable. That's racing .......... in this case!

22 - 23 October 2010: Youngtimer-Trophy

Last race of the Youngtimer-Trophy with BMW M3 DTM„TicTac“

The focus at AH Racing was in this year alone directed to the BMW M1. It should be a test function and year of the new race car. The maximum expectations were met, the team did a fantastic job.

The events that team members were often asked, what about the other race cars, and whether one or the other racing car once again to use. The race cars of the two Heinrichs known and successful. The fan-crowd is great.

15- 16 October 2010: 34. DMV 250-Mile Race

“It could not get worse" was the tenor of the fans. The weather at the weekend was an extension of the weather 3 weeks ago. Only colder and more wet. Wrapped in winter clothes, the boys of AH-Racing arrived on Friday morning in the Eifel. In bad feeling in the stomach and the fear in mind that the handsome BMW M1 at some point something could happen, the box was set up.

some dry minutesThe weather forecast clouded the atmosphere and thus were directly mounted rain tires. On Friday afternoon a free trial and testing was impossible because the conditions on the track was too dangerous to go to the BMW M1 with a test.

Til to this race almost all events are more or less dry and mild conditions and the team of Peter and Achim Heinrich lacked any coordination and experience to date with rain tires.

To tune a car on cold and especially wet racing conditions, it requires a lot of time and a lot of sensitivity. Not only the tires have to "work", there are many adjustments in the chassis. Stabilizers can be "soft" position, the train and rebound of the shock absorbers provides several adjustments and the springs can also be in the spring rate "C" "soft" or be elected harder.

Autumn NürburgringIt requires a lot of experience from many races ........ The "VLN jewel" of AH Racing, the BMW M1 hasn´t collected enough experience.

On Friday and Saturday it wasn´t possible for Peter and Achim Heinrich to go one timed lap of the race because the conditions a "Competition" is not allowed. The top training times of the "Big Bang" were also more than a half minutes behind the top times in "normal" conditions and that spoke volumes.

Achim started in the third group, since no time is stopped and thus were no results. After the formation lap Achim came in the box and turned off the AH Racing BMW M1 in the box. The high humidity and high moisture unpaid tribute to the M1 stuffed with electronics: the electronics was "Stand" and malfunctions and so it was more appropriate to the M1 for security to be better in the box.

24- 25 September 2010: 42. ADAC Barbarossapreis, 8th VLN race with Touring Car Revival

AH-Racing M1 reached second win in the H4 class

The race director was furious. At 03:15pm clock the race was canceled. But what happened?On Friday, the AH-Racing boys were traveling with two cars on the trailer at the Nurburgring. In the luggage, the AH-Racing BMW M1 for 8 VLN race and on the second trailer to the known BMW M3 in the TicTac history.

Upgrades for the cold season with taped brake cooling ductsThe God of the North Loop had been autumn this weekend a very bad mood because the weather and the Eifel-typical: cold and rainy. Unpleasant for all participants, because the fall foliage and greasy sections are not only critical but also dangerous.

The 8th Round of the Endurance Championship was a huge upgrade in the field of the GT3 cars. AMG-Mercedes was first published with the all-new AMG Mercedes SLS GT3 and already claimed the top spot in free practice was targeted.

The starting field consisted of 201 (!) Participants and because of the "screwed up" rainy Achim Heinrich started from grid position 190 and had an hour and nine minutes out of date already 122 competitors more or less.

As Achim drove almost 2 hours to the race scheduled pit stop in the pits and his father Peter went into the M1, was the pit stop sequence out of a picture book and everything worked smoothly and perfectly. Achim gave his father a few hints to where the location on the "Ring" and stranded cars were parked and flown out the yellow flag was waved.

The AH-Racing philosophy says that everything that is technically feasible, we have to build in. The last major step was the sequential Hewland gearbox, it worked fantastic the first time. A lot of technology requires a lot of control. Control is not only the visual inspection, but also the data documentation by means of data transmission.

In modern racing car is the "telemetry" in the late 80s has become indispensable. The possibilities have become diverse and sometimes limitless. The development of technology never sleeps, the old note pads are replaced by notebooks.

In Burgsteinfurt, a small city with only 15,000 inhabitants, but with the oldest university of Westphalia, with beautiful community centres from all epochs, one the most beautiful water castles at Münsterland into a green pleasure park from that 18. 28 August 2010 - Aerodynamics update during the summer break

The 7th VLN race on 31/7/2010 AH-Racing was a dream come true. But no victory or success in line with the Olympic spirit of the reason for happiness, but the perfection in the last few days, before the race.

In the final days before the ADAC 6h race were in the home workshop, the lights out again very late. Check UpWhen the injection was mounted repaired, team boss Peter Heinrich got on the M1 to drive the first test laps on the Grand Prix circuit. The AH-Racing M1 is on everyone's lips - and important visitors in the box!

Fantastic weather prevailed from 23 to 24 April at the Nurburgring. It would also give eifel typical snow but the weather god was kind to the teams and fans. Sunny, warm - simply perfect.

Important Visitors for AH-Racing: Augusto Farfus and Pedro Lamy – Factory driver of BMW MotorsportThe AH-Racing BMW M1 struggled with Achim Heinrich as start driver on the handlebars just after the start with the hellishly fast ALPECIN-Minis with the racing legends Harald "Nippel" Grohs and Markus "Öse" Oestreich on the handlebars.

From the beginning 10:05 per lap was after a few rounds quickly setup a 9:26 per lap.

A temporary increase of nearly half a minute within a few laps is a fantastic result for the team of AH-Racing. The time of 9:25 also drove the Aston Martins..........

The Aston Martin with start number #83 is the reason why our report of 3rd VLN race take only a few words. In the 22nd Round crashed our colleague Leo Löwenstein because of a series of tragic circumstances, unfortunately, fatal.

The project "Ah-Racing builds BMW M1 for the fans" was dubbed as "fan project". The fans at the Nordschleife should not only see a beautiful and fast BMW M1 , they should also identify with the racing project.

At the beginning of the year the idea also matured to Corporate Identity. Quite clear and unmistakeable style in the appearance. And thus a clothing collection was sketched which leans in the colour BMW and also AH-Racing and takes up the subject BMW M1.

The team Clothing exists of multi function jackets, of shirts, T-shirts, Polo Shirts and Basecaps in military style. The team Clothing is embroidered in front with logos of BMW, AH-Racing and the industrial partners BBS, BILSTEIN, TRW and YOKOHAMA. On the arms the Logos of QGH (Quarzglas Heinrich!) and the media partner P4D (Publics4Drive). And at the back AH-Racing presents the subject "BMW M1" with "AH Racing", "BMW M1" and “.... 30 years and still on fire.....” as a homage to the legendary BMW M1 which provides in new edition also 30 years after the first racing appearance still for "fire".

In the year 2008, in Peter and Achim Heinrich matured the idea to build up a new BMW M1 for the VLN endurance race at the Nurburgring.

At the local garage near Simmerath in the Eifel region were already some cars from Bavaria, with which both Heinrich successfully challenged in the past races. In addition to the legendary BMW 635 CSi BMW M3 E30 were two, the beautiful BMW M3 CSL and the well-known classic cars BMW M1.
